"Older lodge located about a mile from the train station. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. The room was a good size but definitely outdated in furniture and decor. The communal sitting area was nice and offered hot water for tea. Dinner is served nightly for an additional cost but I did not partake. No shoes are worn inside the building. "

"I had a brilliant time at this guesthouse. The owners were so lovely, kind and helpful. The breakfast was varied and wholesome and plenty of it. The room, although dated, was large and I slept really well. It had everything you needed. It is located close to all the sights of Nikko and a nearby Onsen. A bus ride takes you easily to the lake. I wish I could have stayed longer and really recommend you staying here. The hosts are amazing."

"It’s hard to say what the most important thing is for a hotel stay. Is it 1) the property and room, 2) the food or 3) the staff? Well, it doesn’t matter with this property cause you’re winning on all 3. "The place was okay, but a bit rundown. We went as a family, and I would not recommend doing so as there is only one shared shower for the entire place, which makes the stay a bit inconvenient. We had two rooms -- one was renovated and looked okay, while the other was more rundown and not so nice. The toilets upstairs were also a bit old, but the one downstairs was renovated and much nicer.
