"Perfect stay. I loved everything about Kars Oteli. The building is one of the few remaining old Russian mansions in Kars, my room was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful long outside balcony. The bed was superb. The room had a fridge, kettle and coffee machine, also a cafetière. A good breakfast. Most of all Metin Bey was excellent, he found me a Turkish tour (museums, Ani, lake çıldır) for the next day, and helped with every query. He kindly packed me a good breakfast for the doğu ekspresi - lucky as there's no food on the train (only on the tourist one). I highly recommend staying here. "

An iconic hotel thoughtfully decorated A perfect balance of comfort and hospitality! All of the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and at home. I don’t remember the name of each one of them but they were all professional and nice always ready to help and assist. Miss Melisa, Ebru and Mr Erhan were extremely helpful with everything! Oh not to forget the breakfast was so delicious! What truly sets Katerina Sarayi apart for me is Niko (the cat) and the outstanding service! I may have repeatedly emphasized on the service and hospitality but having stayed in many different hotels around the world I’ve never came across such a beautiful team! Looking forward to go back! "The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was big and comfortable. At times there was a sewer smell but it wasn't extremely strong or constant. The breakfast buffet was good but get there early (before 9 am. If you get there at 9 am or later, everything is empty or only a few things left. When the çay runs out, no more is made. The hotel is located close to everything. "

"Deniz is a wonderful person and the house is a very pleasant place to be. The surrounding area is a mess, but it is really in the center of the city. I can't understand how a city could let this happen, but it is what it is. It isn't cheap compared to some hotels in the area, but for me it was worth it."

"The man on day reception was very kind and helpful. He got us a taxi for Ani ruins and Lake Cilders for a very good fair price. He had great suggestions for local dining. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel is dated but clean and functional and has a great lift"
