"The property was much more than I expected and in a great location. From the minute we arrived, Jennifer and Jeff greeted us warmly and were helpful in every way. They gave us information on local things not to miss and about the property in general. They allowed us to walk around and look at their great gardens and spend time next to the amazing koi pond. Everything lit up at night and it was relaxing to say the least. The house was well stocked with everything you would expect plus more. Everything was clean and very welcoming after a long day of traveling. There are two restaurants and a gas station just minutes down the road from the house which is great. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful vacation in a tranquil setting. It was hard to leave. "

"After reading the reviews, we decided to book our entire 10-day trip at the Rainbow Cottage. It was the most wonderful place we have ever stayed in. Being “off the grid” was delightful. Having no cell or internet service allowed us to totally disconnect and be present. Each night the waves and coqui frogs lulled us to sleep. As we drank our coffee in the morning, we sat and looked at the ocean while eating fresh coconut, papaya, and starfruit from trees on the property. We traveled to all parts of the island on most days, but the highlight of the trip was sitting on the cottage’s lanai and seeing spinner dolphins dancing. What an amazing sight. David and Clay’s communication was excellent and everything about the cottage is well thought out for simplicity and ease. We hope to stay again soon. Thank you for sharing your amazing place with us! "

"This was a Girl’s Trip with childhood friends. The home was well appointed, very clean, and amazingly relaxing! The views were fabulous and the pool was very inviting. I’m sure we will be back again!"

"It was perfect for our state. Very clean kind of treehouse vibes in the middle of the fern forest the price was extremely reasonable. Location is very secluded in the middle of the forest gravel road going in very dark if you come in late but very safe location we stayed in number five had a perfect shower table microwave small fridge upstairs had a bed and a restroom, I would recommend If you like to save the environment and stay away from lots of touristy types of properties. Had two towels for us and hangers for our clothes nice fan in the bedroom prizing cool you can hear a lot of the coqui frogs and lots of rain very soothing at night. Gated parking area we enjoyed our stay very very much and look forward to coming back."

"Had a great time, the location of the house is just breathtaking, spent an age just staring at the waves crash against the rocks, saw turtles too! The house is a canny way of the main road situated in a quiet neighborhood, house well stocked. The only issue we had was the heat, we knew at the time of booking the AC was only available in the bedrooms but the lounge and dining areas we found too hot but us Brits just not use to the heat. The coqui frogs were amazing, in full tune all night.Pool was an added bonus. Overall a fabulous stay, really missing those waves!"

"We got to the house right as hurricane Hone was approaching the island and loved watching the waves from the safety of the home. We were able to see turtles and dolphins from the living room! Also very quiet and relaxed neighborhood. Note that the closest beach access is 40 min away in Hilo."
