"Our stay at this traditional ryokan was a highlight of our journey, offering an authentic immersion into Japanese hospitality. Upon arrival, we were welcomed at a picturesque, temple like entrance and promptly greeted by attentive staff. "The traditional room was remarkable. I love the floor sleeping. The place has a nice public onsen. If you are into manga the owner has a huge collection to check out. Also there is a massage chair in the lobby that I recommend for after your bath. This place is tucked back off of the main road so it is quiet. I highly recommend this for a night or multi night stay if available. "

"We got to stay here for the night of news years eve and enjoyed a vegetarian dinner. My husband cannot eat any wheat or gluten so the monks made sure he had a special vegetable dish with no soy sauce. The rooms were at first cold but with the heaters warmed up nicely. The hot baths were nice. We enjoyed walking the town and seeing the various shrines and temples and large cemetery too. The huge cypress trees were amazing. And the cemetery was lit at night too. "This was such a unique experience. I enjoyed my stay and LOVED the in-room onsen tub. I only wish there was a larger safe in the room. It was on the smaller side, so I couldn’t fit my laptop in it. "

"I chose this ryokan since it was the only reasonably priced one in the Nara area. It has a beautiful garden just outside our room and the room itself was comfortable and large. The only downside to the place was the strong smell in the room and the cockroach that I had to kill as it crawled across the room."
