"The front desk staff was super helpful. The free breakfast buffet was very good - as was the dinner at the hotel restaurant. We went during ski season and there is not much else by way of restaurants in the area besides at other hotels or on the slopes so I'd recommend making a reservation at the hotel restaurant for your nights there. You can mix it up and do the chef's course menu one night and stick with the regular menu the next. Note: You cannot just walk in, they require a reservation. There is a complimentary bus from Yudanaka station that will bring you to the Ryuoo Ski Park entry and then just call T Hotel to get them to send a shuttle for you. If you go during ski season you'll want this because otherwise you're hiking a snowy mountain with luggage!"

"We stayed during the shoulder season and it was quiet at the time so we were able to enjoy the public onsen all to ourselves. Private onsen in our own room was perfect for us as we have tattoes, but the staff said if your tattoo is for fashion purpose only, it'll be ok - just let them know in advance. Food was great, they have free trf services to/from Yudanaka station. We didn't get to go this time but it's not too far from Jigokudani snow monkey park. We loved the roof top bar they had! Staff including the owner were very polite, friendly and courteous that we enjoyed our time there and we'll definitely recommend and go back!"

"We enjoyed our stay at this onsen hotel. The staff were very accommodating and made us feel welcome, and we were able to use the private onsen, which was refreshing after a long day. The only downside was that the room smelled strongly of gas due to the gas heaters, but we adjusted to it. The best part was waking up to a foot of snow! Very beautiful. "

"Very quiet and relaxing Ryokan in Yamanouchi Onsen Town. I think I was the only person staying here at the time. I had the Onsen all to myself for the night I was there and I wish I had booked one extra night because the Onsen was very relaxing. The staff/owners are super sweet and wonderful people. They even offered me a ride up to the snow monkey park entrance when I arrived. The rooms have an excellent view of the mountains. Hot water and tea cups are waiting in your room when you arrive. The thermos' last a long time because I still had hot water in the morning for a tea on the balcony to watch the sunrise. Breakfast is basic continental. The fruits were super delicious and the bread for toast was fresh baked. The mattress was comfy and cozy, I fell asleep within minutes of laying down. Highly recommend staying here for a night or two if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway in a cute mountain town."
