"The Takinoyu Hotel was superb! It was larger than I thought and very luxurious feeling. We booked one of their more traditional rooms which was very spaceous and the view of the garden was lovely. We didn't have time to visit their baths but they looked very nice. The staff were great also, very friendly and helpful! Overall excellent hotel, would definitely stay here again! "

"We stayed here for a week while visiting our daughter who lived nearby. The staff were friendly, and polite. No problem with communication even though I do not speak Japanese. I really enjoyed their breakfast buffet. The view of the mountains from the room can't be beat. I agree with one review that said the toilet in the reception is the best toilet I have been to in Japan, as crazy as that may sound. Highly recommend!"

The private onsen baths which don't require a reservation are a great option for people with tattoos and mixed-gender groups/couples. "かなりおすすめのホテルです。 松島で客室露天風呂付きのお部屋を探していて、こちらに辿り着きました。お部屋は写真よりも広く、カップルでリラックスして過ごすのには最適です。部屋の目の前には松島の海が広がっていますよ。 お食事は海鮮系の和食で、伝統的な日本式の旅館・ホテルのような食事体験を期待している人に特におすすめです（ブッフェ形式ではなく、一人一人お膳を用意いただける形式です）。 最寄駅からのアクセスもよく、徒歩15分以内なので、駅前の観光をしながら楽しく歩いてホテルまでむかいました（希望があれば送迎もしれくれるので、歩きたくない人でも安心） なお、ホテルの目の前には小さな島があり、そこに大量のカモメがいて、個人的にはそれも見どころの一つかなと思いました（鳴き声がうるさいと感じる人もいるかもしれませんが、それ以外はとっても静かなエリアです） 総合的に大満足のステイでした。カップルで素敵な思い出を作るなら、ぜひ海風土さんを利用してみてくださいね。"

We arrived from Sendai and took a day trip towards Yamagata and on both occasions a shuttle bus was waiting to take us to the hotel without advanced booking.
