"Well managed, clean and with good basic facilities. Library in the lobby is a nice, and unusual, thing to have. Would be nice to have a bin for recyclables, not just a waste bin. Overall, though, a very good place to stay."

"I booked this hotel because I wanted to enjoy an onsen (which allowed hotels) and a traditional-style bedroom. It met both of those criteria, and was in a prime location to explore downtown Kagoshima City. I really appreciated that the staff kept our luggage before we checked in and after we checked out. Plus, they helped call us a taxi when we were heading to board a ferry at the port."

"Closed to main attractions, 15 min walk to the aquarium, also mean the ferry to Sakurajima, 10 min to Tenmonkan, another good point"

"The staff speaks good english. Very easy communication. They provide bath salt at the lobby for a bathtub soak, which is very nice. Parking is the only issue. They have a partnership with a carpark nearby. But there are 2 carpark with the same name- Maruya 1 and Maruya 2. Unfortunately, i parked at the wrong one, and couldn't get the discounted rate. If driving, there are hotels with more convenient parking. But if travelling by train, this hotel is perfect. "
