The Rowan Cottage is situated on a spot that takes full advantage of the West Coast beauty. It is part of a park-like six-acre oceanfront property known as the Seaward Estate. Historically, Seaward was one of five salmon trap sites along Juan de Fuca Strait until the 1950s.
Seaward provides many beautiful natural landscapes, including two beaches (with thousands of feet of picturesque coastline), west coast forest, and wood trails. It remains one of the best oceanfront properties in the Greater Victoria Region. Since real estate value has consistently increased in the last two decades, many good oceanfront properties have been subdivided into small lots and redeveloped. A large original oceanfront property, such as the Seaward, which has preserved all its natural beauty and historical value, is truly rare to find.
The Rowan Cottage is located directly on the oceanfront. It consists of 1356 square feet of space. Extensively remodelled in 2018, the main level of the cottage features an open concept kitchen, dining, and study areas. There are two bedrooms, one has a King-size bed and another one has a queen-size bed. There is a bathroom on this level as well. The living room is down 6 steps to the garden level with easy access through a sliding door to the patio. All rooms have huge windows that overlook the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic mountains. The ever-changing sunlight from dawn to dusk is amazing. The patio provides an outdoor seating area, a dining table, and a BBQ. Through the sliding door in the king bedroom, guests can easily access the highest ground of the property. It offers the widest view swiping from the East Beach to the West Beach. Sitting down in one of the chairs, watching the sunrise and sunset, wildlife, and fishing boats passing by is truly spectacular.…
There is a beach house on East Beach for children to play, as well as for adults to relax. Of course, guests love to spend time on the beaches. The East Beach has a flatter pebble surface for walking, and the West Beach has more giant rocks, small coves, and secret hiding spots for adventure. Many guests find those forest trails are fun to discover. Guests like to sit on the benches at the end of Sunset trail and Otter trail to read a book, to watch wildlife, or to enjoy the sunset. Many others love to have a picnic with a cup of wine on the picnic deck at the end of the Orca trail.
For people who need to be connected, the cottage provides free Wi-Fi. A 50" smart TV offers cable channels, Netflix, YouTube, and many other programs. On a chilled night, there is a wood stove for warmth and cozy. If you are lucky during a dark and clear night, you may enjoy the beautiful sky over the Juan de Fuca Strait with abundant stars in the Milky-way.
The Seaward Estate consists of Rose Cottage (Vrbo 1333347), Rowan Cottage (Vrbo 1340568), and Creekside Cottage (Vrbo 2229506). The Rowan Cottage is about 200 feet away from Rose Cottage and about 50 feet away from Creekside Cottage. All cottages' windows are facing the ocean. There are no windows directly facing each other in order to provide guests with privacy.
