"We were very happy with the accommodations. The property was well maintained with lots of restaurants close by. We found a few local restaurants that were less expensive and with excellent food. Felt safe walking the streets during the day. We did not venture out at night much put that was our choice."

"If you need to stay in the San Jose area, this is a wonderful place. It is on the 11th floor and the views were spectacular. We were there in January. It was windy but we were told it calms down by February. It didn't stop our enjoyment! Though there was a portable a/c unit, we certainly didn't need it. The ceiling fans were adequate. Pool is beautiful but this time of year it was a bit too chilly for us to use. Remember San Jose is 1100 m in elevation and I'm a wimp! There were other people...

"I have friends in the Central Valley and Guanacaste. I travel to both coasts in consideration of purchasing property. They also visit me on occasion. My primary goal for this stay was dental implants and stem cell treatment. I'm very pleased with both and the property. Comfortable bed and loved the very private patio. La dueña communicated and followed up nicely regarding minor issues. I would recommend this place without hesitation."

"The apartment is in a great location with really nice views! We stayed here upon landing in San Jose and then again at the end of our trip. Check in and parking were super easy and the apartment was very cozy and clean! We would definitely stay here again…. And hope to! Thank you so much! Lesley"

"We needed an overflow place during a family stay. We had our grandkids staying with us and this was the perfect place. Very secluded with a lovely garden and a swing set. The house was very well furnished very clean very modern. It was very close to grocery shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anybody else!"

"This garden condo is a beautifully sunlit space. The surrounding gardens are magical with brilliant colors and many different varieties of visitors including birds, bees, butterflies etc. So many astoundingly beautiful sites and stunning sunsets. The nearby pueblo of Santo Domingo is not only quaint but easily accessible by walking or cab. It is a nice way to get to know the neighborhood and enjoy the "living life" away from home. "Nice hotel in a good spot in Barrio Escalante. It was nice to have our own apartment with a kitchen. Room was clean and the staff was friendly. I could tell that booking through Expedia was an extra hurdle for them, because we didn't get standard messages like our room door code or the wifi details, those appeared to be arranged some other way which was not known to me. It's well worth the money, but maybe book on a different platform."

Perfect for first night in Costa Rica

"Stayed for our first night on arriving in Costa Rica. Transport from airport to the hotel was provided and excellent. Room was very comfortable with good air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent. Amazing pool area. We have booked to stay the last night of our holidays and will definitely be taking a dip in the pool. "

"Jason at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay truly wonderful. During a very difficult time—our son required emergency surgery at nearby Clínica Bíblica—Jason showed incredible kindness and support. He anticipated our needs, accommodated every request with genuine care, and consistently checked in to ask how our son was doing. I sincerely hope Gran Hotel recognizes what an exceptional team member they have in him. Beyond Jason, the porters and concierge staff were also excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional. The food at the hotel was very good, with the brunch standing out as a highlight. The location is ideal—within walking distance to several museums and just across the street from the National Theatre. All in all, a fantastic hotel in a prime location. You really can’t go wrong here. And if you have the chance, be sure to ask for Jason."

Great little hotel!

"The room and bathroom were immaculate and roomy. We had a wonderful dinner in the hotel restaurant up on the 4th floor looking out over the city. We ate in the lovely outdoor dining area surrounded by bougainvilleas. It was the best good of our trip to Costa Rica. The breakfast buffet the next morning was very nice with many options and excellent service. "
