"The service at Koshinoyado Takashimaya was unbelievably perfect, consistently exceeding my every expectation. The food was so exceptional that I must say it was better than most any other ryokan I've stayed at. The menu served, the quality of the ingredients and the careful, discerning preparation made each meal an event to look forward to. Yes, this is an older ryokan, but its food and service stand as truly compelling reasons to stay here."

"This was the only available place to stay so we gave it a try. Temperature in the lobby was 5 celcius and the clerk was wearing a coat. Temperature in the room was 7 celcius. Room heater worked for a bit and then broke in the early morning. Bathroom sink had no hot water. This was one step above camping. We left after one night when we had booked 3 nights."
