"Our weeks stay at the Herdsman’s House a few kms from downtown Sligo was magical. The accommodations were as advertised, impeccably clean, spacious and cozy at the same time. Spectacular views of Sligo Bay and the surrounding farmland. Sheep and cows in pasture surround the Herdsman’s House. Des and Mary made us feel like family, with great tips on places to visit, and what Ireland’s northwest has to offer. They also gave us a bit of the history of the community they cherish. "I cannot imagine a more perfect experience than Michael and Bridget’s beautiful farmhouse! They were both spectacular hosts. The house was cozy, clean, and comfortable … and just a quick walk to the Glenveigh Inn for a pint. O nice for them to have set us up with some coffee, tea, and milk. The region is spectacularly beautiful. Highly recommend."

"This was such a wonderful experience to have the opportunity to stay in a beautiful and lovingly restored period home. It truly was like taking a step back in time and like staying in a museum! Trudy was absolutely fantastic and I am so impressed with how she has cared for this home and that she opens it up for others to enjoy this property. "The house was very comfortable but the views and location were the highlights"

"The breakfast was always wonderful. Everything was very clean. My biggest problem was the location. It was farther away from Cavan than I expected. In addition, I was unable to connect to cellular phone service from my room. Lastly, the owner advised me that she could not accept my credit card even though my credit card is from a European bank, only cash. Overall, I would not choose this property again regardless of the price. "

"Loved the charm of the place. It is relatively remote, but the views are astounding, and all needs were met by the host and a near-by housekeeper. "

"8 adults in our group who all enjoyed staying at Hilltown. Very clean and tidy, spacious with large dinning space, nice sittingroom and very comfortable double/king sized beds. Ideal for families with children who can sleep in the room with 2 bunkbeds though that was a bit more challenging for our older group of adults getting up to the top bunks!
