"I recently did a father-daughter golf trip to Cape Breton for my dad's 75th birthday. The goal was to be located near great golf, be able to enjoy the time together with our own rooms/privacy, and preferably with amenities that allowed us modern options. This property delivered on all of that and more. Our host, James, was super communicative prior to our stay and all throughout. He really went out of his way to make recommendations for restaurants, activities, etc., and to ensure each day of our stay was going well. He is the epitome of a "super host" and I would stay at this property again in a heartbeat. The extra bonus was that he is also a good golfer and caddie for Cabot Links & Cliffs and we were able to request him for both courses -- he was terrific! Super knowledgeable and fun to spend our rounds with. Highly recommend+++"

"I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed the Fiddle and the Sea. Our room was spacious and quiet. Spotless too. The breakfasts were excellent, with homemade bread, various egg dishes, fresh fruit and yogurt. Best of all, our host Alain played his fiddle for us at breakfast and gave a brief talk (with photos!) each morning about about the history, culture, landscapes and wildlife of Cape Breton. We learned so much. He and Denise also advised us on things to do and see based on our interests and time. We’d love to stay at the Fiddle and the Sea again."

"Wonderful setting with a brook running through the property and lovely grounds. Great distillery tour with tasting for a small fee. Fantastic fiddler tonight at the restaurant. My son enjoyed his pulled beef poutine however my lobster Mac and cheese was bland with very little lobster - mostly tips of the claws - which were not tasty. Room is very clean and comfortable "
