"The hotel is located within some outstanding scenery with Loch Alvie literally on your doorstep. We were all made to feel welcome, including Dizzy the dog , and the chefs produced some delicious food as we sat near a blazing log fire. Room and bathroom were very clean and well appointed. The only grumble we would have is that we were charged for our dog's stay on a nightly basis, to cover additional cleaning, as opposed to per visit, you would only clean the room once even after 2 nights stay."

They explained me many things, brought towels directly ro my room and even talked and played dart with me, while I waited for my dinner, which was a great local beef burger. The dart is free and so is the great breakfast, where the lovely owner made me croissants, toast, scrambled eggs and provided cereals, although I was a bit late for it (8.30 - 9.30). "A wonderful three day stay, comfy beds, lovely views, idylic location. Nothing too much trouble. Great walks from the lodge. Star gazing from the hot tub and glorious weather, what’s not to love."

"The cottage is set in a beautiful location in woodland with hills beyond. Ballater is the nearest small town which is 20 mins walk away with cafes, shops and restaurants. We had a lovely time. Highly recommended. "

"Nice and clean place with a lake nearby. Staff was very accommodating even before we checked-in. We stayed in a room good for 3 people and it was cramped. The beds squeeked a lot too. For the price, we expected something better... but then we were just there for a couple nights, so it was ok. Perhaps the cabins would have been nicer for longer stays. "

"Great location for hiking or passing thought the National Park. Nice big property with 2 living rooms for chilling, a fully equipped kitchen and a big dining room. Showers and toilets are shared with all other rooms on your floor. Also towels have to be rented - £5 for two, this was an unusual encounter for us. Owner who showed us around was lovely. "
