"Overall the hotel was ok. Unfortunately the loud noise and doors banging from some guests (sport team or similar) which lasted until around 12am didn’t bother any of the hotel’s employee but we couldn’t sleep until 12am. And the sport team woke up around 5am which made us wake up the same time. The ventilation in the room we stayed in was off and the luck of fresh air made us open the window over night. The room was clean and modern, towels were clean but with a strong smell of vinegar....

"I entered Damian hotel in troffalero italy The hotel is very very dark The rooms are very very dark I was not asked to register My car was parked on site with a big metal gate controlled only by the owner I was therefore Unable to leave at 4 am as planned as my car was locked behind the gate I decided to forfeit my booking and leave before using the room Despite a request for a refund I had to pay for the night in full This is not a hotel it's a joke Please never stay at hotel Damian "

"Good location. Stayed in loft on top floor - it was huge. A view of rooftops only. No balcony. Only drawback was the shower in a tub with a small glass door that didn't keep all the water in. Also, shower pressure and heat was sporadic. Don't give you coffee pucks on second day unless you pay for them."

"I waited to gather my thoughts on this. I too am an Innkeeper and wanted to be fair. I communicated all my concerns but the property was very rigid and not willing to compromise to make me happy. I reserved based on reviews of which there were only 4. This should have been a warning. The property is a very beautiful restored castle. The room was exceptional, clean and very unique. We booked a few hours before arrival, looking for a great place with a SPA. There were pictures of a spa. We are frequent travelers in Italy and when rain came we adjusted our bookings. When we arrived we found that the property is VERY REMOTE. That’s fine for a DESTINATION stay. We always get a car for flexibility and exploration. You will NOT be able to dine out,enjoy wine because the nearest restaurant/villiage is 20 minutes away. There is a wonderful restaurant on site, expensive but lovely, but that will be your only option. Once we realized there was no spa, only an on call masseuse, no other dining options, I requested an early checkout. That would have made me happy. The property refused to refund for our second night. This was a reservation made hours before arrival and the room would have otherwise been empty. I think this is a very cool place for a destination or a function. Clearly they are not interested in generating great reviews from people to want to experience the castle then move on. No compromise despite a fair request with concerns spelled out. I would not return."

"Exterior and immediate area very dirty and not very inviting. Plenty of parking in open compound outside. Communal areas basic but clean. Modern bathroom but shower head and taps all in need of descaling to work properly. Cigarette burn on bedspread. Wouldn't want to stay more than one night. Wouldn't book again."
