"The grand bath is truly grand. Plan to spend a good amount of time at the baths. If this is the first leg of Hokkaido, a nice relaxing bath could easily take 45 mins (a short one)"

"Stayed in Japanese Traditional Room with Private Open Air Bath. The pictures on Expedia are a true representation of the accommodation but the stay was even better than anticipated. Kaiseki meal in private dining room was wonderful and showcased a lot of the local food. The tatami room and sitting area in the room was nice and relaxing and the futons were perfectly set by the time we returned after dinner. The balcony onsen was a lovely warm contrast to the chilly wintry air. The public baths were also very clean and had a variety of temperatures for both inside and outside. Very close walk to the temple and Hell Valley. Included breakfast was also very delicious with impeccable service. Sad to have only stayed one night!"

"I don't think I spent enough time in Tomakomai to get a good feeling for the area, I mainly stayed here because it was close to Sapporo and the hotel was within walking distance from Tomakomai train station. The hotel was also very close to a Don Quijote, Lawson, and Seicomart. The only room option available at the time was a smoking room, and while it was clean, the room itself seemed old and like it needed some updating. The view from my room was nice though, and there wasn't a lingering odor of smoke. The general area is quite different to what I was expecting, being quite industrial, but it still felt safe and quiet at night. This is also a port town, seeing multiple fairies coming and going daily, which makes this hotel convenient to people who may be coming into the area by ship."

"Onsen, ice cream, massage chair, night ramen noodle. All of them are free! I also like the breakfast here. The staff are very friendly, too. The only thing I’d complain is one of two sleeping pajamas hanging on the closet has an unpleasant smell."
