"My first solo trip, I was nervous about the concept of a hostel but a&o made it easy and made every opportunity to make available help known to me. My key card unfortunately stopped working but thankfully I only came and went once from my dorm so no real fault to place."

"One of the best hostels we have stayed in. We had a private room, which was large and we had plenty of room. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was fantastic, in the middle of the city centre. Unfortunately, it is an old building and sound travels around it. Our room was next to a door and we could hear it banging closed all night as others moved around the hostel. The hostel does supply free ear plugs, which helped somewhat. "The Hostel is in a great walkable area near Grassmarket Edinburgh. Lots of local pubs and shops within blocks. Great location. Compared to another hostel I stayed at in Glasgow, the Kick Ass had clean bathrooms, usable showers with good pressure & hot water. Having a pub downstairs with food was quick and convenient. Overall, a great and affordable place to stay if you dont mind bunking with other travelers. Everyone was nice and respectful in the dorms. No issues at all. "

"Was cheap and cheerful. Small bed but was fine for a night. Reception had free earplugs etc and lovely Staff. Would stay again Only bad part was the closest parking we could get was a 10 Min walk "

"I was staying somewhere else first but tgat place was horrible. This hotel was great. Amazing vibe, clean, soft bed, quiet and modern. The receptionist was also really kind and friendly. I will definitely come again !"

"The staff were great. The place was a very close walk to the tram , which was amazing for getting around the city. The place was clean and the building felt secure. As a student dorm , it was as expected, nothing flashy but that’s all that was needed to enjoy the city. There is a grocery store and a Starbucks very close which was also very convenient. "

"Comfortable walk ro Princess Street, Castle , shops, pubs etc There is a bus stop right outside the door if walking is not an option The one suggestion I would make is for guests to bring eye madks, as the curtains are very thin and the outside street lights shine right into the bedrooms facing the front street Kitchen is very well equipped, showers have good water pressure, lots of hot water, "

"We enjoyed this day better than probably any we’ve ever had. We got one of the apartments in the back of the property, and it was phenomenal! It had a balcony overlooking the royal mile. It also had a full kitchen, washer dryer. Very easy to control the temperature with the Heater as well as the windows that opened. The bathroom was immaculate! I can’t say more about how amazing our week was! "

Excellent 👌

"We had an awesome time at Holiday Inn, Edinburgh. The hotel is conveniently located at heart of the city making all the tourist attractions easily accessible. The breakfast spread was great and kids loved it. The front desk staff were very cordial and even helped us with some food options pretty late in night (kids were jet lagged 😀). Overall our experience was great and we would love to come back again sometime in future. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Edinburgh."

"Very clean hotel and rooms, although they are on the smaller side. Great location, nice easy walk to anything you could want to do in Edinburgh. Maybe some rooms are different but we didnt have amenities like a microwave, fridge, hair dryer etc but the room was spotless, everything worked, smart tv connects to your phone so you can use your own streaming accounts. Coffee and breakfast in the morning was delicious if you just wanted a quick bite. For the money and location I don't think you can beat it!"
