It is not a 5 star hotel but it does have everything a traveler need. A comfortable bed, clean room, good strong hot water and easy access to food! The bathroom doesn’t have a tub but everything in the bathroom works and clean. Room is a little tight after we put our luggages in the room. Furnishing is not the most luxurious but it is simple and practical.
In the lobby they provide free coffee and tea as well as various type of cookies. They also have bicycle you can borrow.
If you go out of the hotel and turn right you will hit the Hualien night market. If you turn right again you will see a big supermarket. If you continue pass the supermarket you will hit the day market. What a convenience! If you turn left after leaving the hotel you will hit some eateries along the street.
Overall there wasn’t much to do in Hualien. ThevTaroko national park is closed due to the earthquake and typhoon last year. Took the kids to the Farglory Ocean Park it was a bit of a disappointment. All the water ride are closed including the water around the castle moat. The aquarium was good. The kids loved it.
Uber doesn’t work in Hualien because there are no driver. You can use Find Taxi to get ride but a lot of time you can not even find any rides. So be careful if you are out of the city!
Overall 2-3 max is enough for Hualien. One more thing, 2B ATV is a good place to experience ATV. They are a nice bunch of people. Take the train from Hualien to Xincheng train station. Then get a taxi.
