"Shannon was an excellent host. Nice breakfast each morning sat above the pool area. Our bungalow was clean and comfortable with daily maid service. A few minutes walk to the lively town and beach where all the action of Tamarindo is going on. The pool was great to cool down and relax in the hammocks and day beds under the shade. The bungalows are an excellent small, homely oasis to chill out and escape the corporate world. We would stay again with Shannon and her lovely staff. "

"With great tour options in walking distance, awesome resturaunts on the perfect beach less then 5 minutes away i give this place 5 stars! Hosts are very friendly, helpful, and i highly recomend visiting Villa Ave de paraiso. They made sure I got picked up from airport. This area has everything you need in walking distance with minimal crowd."

The spacious, clean room had a king size bed and two twin beds, which was perfect for our family of four with two "tween" boys who don't want to share a bed if they don't have to! "Was a fantastic stay in Tamarindo! The staff were amazing, the facility was great and we would not hesitate to go back! The shuttle to town was amazing for pickup and drop off. A bit far of a walk but it wasn't an issue. The pool and bar were brilliant too. No issues with bugs like some other reviews said either. Would recommend!"

"Beautiful property, huge pool, variety of restaurants. Slightly isolated from any towns (half hour drive to Tamarindo and they have a shuttle). Walked to a nice beach restaurant, Lola’s. Could advertise that the spa has a sauna, steam room and small pool. Spa prices were high for Central America but service was good. Really enjoyed the Tamarine Restaurant. Room was very comfortable with a large bathtub. Pool is huge. Nice property, about an hour and a half from Liberia airport. Found a less expensive van to and from Liberia airport than what the Marriott offered. "

"This resort was a dream! From the min we got the staff was warm and welcoming and took care of us in every way imaginable. We had to wait for our room due to flying in so early and they were more than happy to check us in and hold our belongings until our room was available and we were able to enjoy the amenities they had to offer. We also booked all our adventures with the hotel and they made it so easy to book and attend. 10/10 recommend this hotel"

Occidental Papagayo - Adults Only - All inclusive

"My wife and I came from the US for our honeymoon for 7 days and we loved our stay! To be honest, we were worried after reading some of the reviews, but the staff was helpful and prompt, the property was clean, the pools were nice, and the beach was great! They have an awesome on-site booth to purchase excursions which we did multiple of! The only downsides we can only think of were the showers could use some updating! The food is decent; Nothing to write home about but not bad. There is quite a bit of walking, as the property is large, but truly nothing to complain about unless you are elderly or have some health issues. The animals on the property keep to themselves and are so cute! Overall, I’d say if you’re looking for a cheap, fun, good, place to stay and go out and see Costa Rica, this is your spot! If you’re looking for exquisite food, super nice rooms, and premium liquor, I’d go somewhere else:)"
