" All the modern conveniences with the old fashioned touches. We really enjoyed our stay at the Post Office. Great central location in a beautiful high country township. Plenty of walks and river activities to keep us busy but also a lovely spot to chill and unwind. Will be back for sure in winter when we can stoke up the fires. Thank you. "

"Such a clean comfortable property. The property manager was amazing to deal with when there was a small sewer issue which was fixed promptly. Comfy beds and every year the owners just do the right little tweaks to maintain the property. "

"House was clean stocked and ready house for any length of time with a beautiful view of the Howqua River. Host was great and well informed of the locale area. I would recommend looking into getting fly fishing lessons if you have time. It came with 2 single beds and one double in 2 reasonable sized rooms, 1 large fridge and a bar fridge in a stocked kitchen. Bathroom had a shower/bathtub and a separate toilet room. If you stay up late & with a torch you can see some wonderful wildlife walking...

"Liz was extremely accommodating, quick to respond to our queries. The whole process from start to end was easy to follow.The house was as describe, it was roomy, clean, comfortable beds, had everything we needed, home away from home. Location amazing, secluded, quiet place, no hustle and bustle. If you like peace and quiet next to water, boating or fishing it is a perfect location. Recommendation to purchase your basic needs ie..milk, bread, any food needed when you drive through Mansfield save...

"We loved our stay, the host was very accommodating and communicated with us before and before our arrival with clear instructions on getting there, things to do and self self-check-in in process. We had everything except the marshmallows to toast on the fire. Being city slickers we had no idea how to start a fire, luckily our host was at hand to start it for us.It's on a big enough property that our schnauzer enjoyed walking around freely but kept her on a leash most of the time.Thanks so much...

"We had an amazing stay, the property itself and the location was stunning. We loved the stunning views although the day. The house itself was very well presented and very clean. We did message and call the management to connect to the properties wifi during our stay as there was no password provided with no response which was a little disappointing. Overall a beautiful property close to Mt Buller and the perfect snow house. Would recommend. "

"My family and I happily stayed at River Retreat over Christmas 2024, We found the river at the bottom of the property the highlight of our stay. Although the running water was only knee deep the grandchildren found using their inner tyres perfect for gently floating down stream again and again. "We were a family group of adults wanting a place to stay with our dogs and a place to moor our boat for water skiiing. We had that - although it was a bit of a rocky trek to the pontoon, but the outcome was worth it for that tiny inconvenience. It was paradise sitting on the deck with the wildlife singing. A rustic house that was clean and spacious and great for the 8 of us. Be careful of the maps app sending you from Eildon to the property via a four wheel drive track.which was not pleasant...

"Great place in a perfect location for boat access and walking distance to the water. The house has everything you need, kitchen was great with plenty of utensils, plates etc. Views from the front deck and upstairs deck were superb and relaxing. Lots to occupy the kids with table tennis and games. I will say that having 12 people was too many, perfect for 10. "
