"First time to Molokai after 20years of visiting the other islands. It was a blast to the past—in so many ways the island is clearly 20 years behind the civilized world. Not a stoplight on the island, many roads turn to dirt without warning, no air conditioning in the condo, sketchy cell coverage (at best) around the island, pay phones and an airport without TSA.The condo was exactly as described online and the property manager was very responsive to when a couple little things came up. We appreciated the thoughtful setup such as providing condiments in the kitchen and beach gear for days out at the ocean. There are many repeat visitors at the Molokai Shores resort—people who come back every year for decades. That makes for easy conversation around the pool or when grilling for dinner. Pro tip:stop at Costco in Maui or Honolulu before heading over to pickup meat and dairy for the stay and you’ll come out way ahead cost-wise. You don’t have to go through TSA to catch the commuter plane so liquids are OK as long as you don’t go over weight limits. "

"Stayed at this A frame for 2 nights and it was the most peaceful, cozy, and comfortable stay in a warm climate that we ever had. The place was clean with everything that you might need for a vacation. It was so quiet and peaceful, except for the roosters. This is the place to get away from city life. The hosts were so prompt and informative. I will definetely stay there again when I am on island."

More importantly, we felt like a welcomed part of the community from the moment we met our driver who transported us to the hotel ( shoutout to Moloka'i Outdoors) to check in through our stay. The nightly local musicians at the restaurant were all wonderful and the view of the sunset is awe inspiring!"

"My husband and I throughly enjoyed our first time on Molokai. It feels like Hawaii from 1950! Even though we could not visit Kalaupapa (closed by National Park Service) we felt there were plenty of things to do. We found great beaches, especially Papohaku Beach, and the whale watching was incredible from the condo's wonderful second-story balcony. Every morning we sat on the balcony with breakfast and watched the whales dance. The condo is a bit dated, but is well appointed, with good kitchen supplies. The AC was wonderful to have to cool the sun in the afternoons. It is a convenient location to the other sides of the island. The owner communicates well and is most responsive. Sunsets were amazing and we saw our first "Green Flash" from the lanai! We would return to this property. Thank you. "

"We had a wonderful time staying at Poniolo Hale. The unit was very well stocked with kitchen appliances and nice furnishings. The screened in porch and large lanai added some much appreciated, very comfortable living space. The beaches within walking distance were very enjoyable and relaxing. Overall, this unit is one of the best condos we have had the pleasure of staying at in Hawaii. "

"A beautiful condo with exceptional views. Gorgeous sunsets every night, 3 very walkable beaches, and a pool with an incredible view. The kitchen has everything you would ever need, and the beach accessories are very helpful. The host and on site management team were all lovely to deal with. The resort shares some space with the old abandoned Sheraton resort, so some of the surrounding buildings have been fenced off, but it just adds to the quirkiness that embodies Molokai. If you’re looking for a quiet spot with friendly people, this is perfect for you. "
