"What a wonderful property! We enjoyed staying at Red Ohana very much. Our family of 4 fit comfortably in the two bedroom guest house. The parents stayed in the larger bedroom with the king bed (very comfy) and the kiddos (5 and 18m) slept in the smaller room. The smaller room is easy to make dark and cozy for the kiddos. "The three bedroom Red Ohana house was perfect for our group of three adult couples. The house is maintained in excellent condition and was open and available for the easiest check-in we have ever experienced! The house was spacious, for our group of six adults and the kitchen was fully equipped for making everything from breakfast coffee ( three different coffee pots to make regular drip coffee, K cup brewed coffee or French press coffee ) to a full evening meal if desired. "

"This was a good place for 3 couples to share. Waikaloa Village has easy access to many of our favorite beaches. The only downside was that it is managed by Vacasa, our least favorite vacation rental management company. Half the lightbulbs in the kitchen were out as well as one in the bedroom. The can openers were almost unusable even by very strong men. Apparently there was a new dishwasher because the silverware holder was strapped to the back of the dishwasher with the folding basket...

"Really enjoyed the scenic rural country stay! This is a special part of the island. Short walk to Waipio valley lookout and short drive into historic Honakaa. The hosts were very welcoming and the fresh fruit from their garden was an exceptional treat. I loved the dogs, cats, and farmlife all around. A truly unique stay. 14 days in Paradise!

"We wanted to get away from the harsh Boston winter and thought of trying something different as it was our first visit to Big Island. This house did not disappoint, pictures in the listing did not do it justice. The house is beautiful! Clean and well stocked with every amenity you can imagine. The open plan living room/dining area is furnished with high end teak furniture, modern and clutter free. The kitchen looked like it was from a magazine. The expansive Lanai with ocean views stretched across the width of the house. Each of the end master bedrooms had french doors opening to the lanai, We slept with the doors open all night, lulled by the sound of ocean waves. It was the best nights’ sleep ever! We woke to the crows of roosters and the moos of cows. The pantry was well stocked with spices and basics, anything else needed was a short drive to Foodland in the next town of Waimea. We were happy that James, the host and caretaker was a text away. He lives in the unit below and whenever we needed anything he would appear with it. He is a delight to talk to, very knowledgeable about the area. We did day trips to Volcano Park, Waipio Valley, had a fancy dinner at Merriman’s, Hawaiian cowboy BBQ at Fish and Hog and malasadas at Tex-Drivein. The historic town of Honokaa is 10 minutes away, we loved the little museum. Farmers’ markets and Wednesdays and Saturdays are a must see. All in all the house is a way to experience true Hawaii. We are making plans to come back next winter."
