"On the hillside across the fjord from the airport and town, it was in the middle of having an extension when we were there (boy, Icelandic builders are hardy) so was a little out of sorts. That said, it is kept in immaculate order, and I’m sure the extension will be great. Currently it’s just 8 rooms, and won’t be so much bigger next year, but will have an internal lift so you don’t have to go outside to get to the lower rooms. There isn’t a restaurant, but the breakfast buffet is a good start...

"This was the perfect stop on the ring road. We were 2 minutes from the forrest lagoon, and 5 minutes from the center of Akureyri. The home was well equipped with the BEST shower of our stay. The sky was very dark and great for star/aurora watching. We were thoroughly inpressed with the luxury of the space. Owners were very gracious and went above and beyond for our stay.
