"I think this has to be one of my favourite places I have ever stayed. The rental was beautiful and very spacious - had everything you needed and then some. The pools were perfect and the view - well, I could never get tired of that view. The town is delightful, and the restaurants and the bottom of the hill are fantastic - especially Gavalionas Kafenes!! So much history to see without even having to drive too far too. Thank you Mrs. Froso for being so kind and helpful, I hope you have a wonderful summer with lots of great renters. I really hope we can get back there soon - (One tip, when renting a car, go for a smaller car as the cool little roads in the small villages can be very narrow.)"

"We loved it, beautiful villa with lovely views, s9 peaceful, well thought out provisions and a generous welcome pack. We had a lovely stay. Local village Plaka had a small selection of nice tavernas and Almyrida a further lovely choice with a good sandy beach, pretty views and not overly touristy. My only slightly negative point is that it was described as a short walk to local shops and tavernas. This was a 5-7 minute drive to Plaka and a further 5 minutes drive to the beach, all downhill there and uphill on way back. We did not attempt to walk it but i would not consider it a short or easy walk at all. For us car was essential, which we had but didn't necessarily want to have to drive every day. "

"The villa lies just outside the village of Vámos, which has a great selection of restaurants and cafes. It is ideally located a short drive to the lovely local beaches to the North and Chania and Rethimno both a short drive away. We loved the outside space and pool area, which offered spectacular views towards the White Mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks at the villa and hope to return to further explore the area. "Our family and friends enjoyed the beautiful view and pool. Frankie and the housekeepers are super helpful, attentive and friendly. Be prepared for the mosquitos as they are relentless. We would recommend this villa if you are looking for a place that is quiet (you may hear some goats and sheep), close to a few beaches, and has a spectacular view!"

"I stayed here with my adult son and after a little trouble finding it at night, we were thrilled with the size and privacy of the villa. With 3 double bedrooms it meant my son had the whole ground floor to himself. The living room and kitchen were huge and the vaulted wooden ceiling and wall to wall views over the White mountains very impressive. We were welcomed with fruit, beer and wine and I had requested some milk for morning tea, which was kindly provided too. All communication with Christos and Mrs Froso was speedy, friendly and helpful and Mrs Froso was a delight to meet and chat to a couple of times and she couldn't do enough for us, without being the least intrusive. She asked us to let her know when it would be convenient to clean, rather than just turning up and we appreciated that. We didn't use the dish washer as we mainly ate out and because there were only 3 mugs, although plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery etc. The fridge freezer was huge and kept things really chilled. The choice of cofee machine was great too. We loved the area around the pool for our more leisurely days and it felt quiet and secluded although on the edge of the village. It was great to have beach towels provided for a change. Gavalachori is a beautiful hillside Greek village with hiking trails. The walk down to the local shops and wonderful taverna was perfect and the short hill back up to the villa helped us walk off our feasting! The tranquil Venetian Wells site was very close by too"
