Really good Japanese style hotel. Stays come with breakfast and dinner. They also have a public bath and sauna which i didnt have time to use. Amenities are basic.
This place was far more than a 3 star. Only reason it may be a 3 star was due to the bed, but it did have a memory foam topper.

The hot spring bath was very nice. It was interesting that women needed to get the key for the bath from the front desk, but men can just use the room key.
For me, the bed was a little stiff, but my partner enjoyed it.
The hotel is convenient that it is very close to the station.
Good location, 10 minute walk from the station so ideal for getting around the city.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. I inadvertently booked a smoking room and it couldn’t be changed so just be aware. Staff were friendly. Only downside was the luggage storage was full so just had to leave cases in the lobby (but all was ok)
Excellent price, including both breakfast and dinner. The food was good too.
On the other hand, they didn't have free wi-fi, which seems essential in the modern world. They also had a policy where you aren't supposed to use the AC to cool your room down to a reasonable level. I think the lowest you were supposed to go was 28 C (82 F)?
Hard to be comfortable when you're hot. I was there in late spring, I can't imagine trying it in the summer. There were also restrictions on heating, which I didn't pay much attention to because I wasn't there in winter.
That said, at this kind of price you have to expect there's a tradeoff somewhere.
