"The walls are paper-thin, you can hear neighbor's TV. There is a smell of mold in the room. The shared bath was not clean. The futons are very thin as well. The communal toilet slippers were disgustingly dirty, and no other slippers inside the hotel were provided (you walk on very old carpets and floors in the hotel hallways barefooted). "Stayed at Onn Nakatsugawa for a night before doing a day hike of the Nakasendo trail. The hotel is a short walk from the train station with various restaurant options nearby. The room itself is well appointed and spacious. There is also a public bath to relax in after a long day of traveling and being on your feet. A great experience overall."
