"We were looking for a place to stay for a 3 night break in the South Downs and were so lucky to find this gemThe Hay Barn is situated well in Upper Farringdon, set in the grounds of the owners family home. "We had a fantastic time at this property for a one off Christmas getaway. The property itself was beautiful, the photos really don’t do it justice! Alison even decorated for us, which was a lovely touch and made our stay feel extra special. Alison was very responsive before our stay in answering any questions we had, and was always available during our stay (even though it was Christmas!). The only small problem we had was regarding the oven fan which didn’t seem to be working. We did let Alison...

"It was a delight to hear the wildlife, and nothing else (!), during my stay at The Hideaway. - Quite refreshing. The accommodation has all one needs, but the emphasis has to be towards the “outdoors”, the tranquillity it offers and marvellous views of the countryside. Walks galore on your doorstep, or just find a spot to sit and take it all in. Well worth a visit."

"Good and spacious house, with great communication from the owner. A couple of down sides though: not enough small spoons/forks and bedding provided for the numbers of guests, and the conservatory was way too cold to sleep, even with the heater on. But it would be fine during spring/summer."

"Pretty house, not a lot to do in village but relaxing. Would have liked a bath with jets or a pool table/karaoke/games console for further entertainment. A lot of areas are restricted and most of the facilities cost extra. Pool was an amazing experience though and worth the extra money. Only qualm was the broken ice dispenser and not knowing beforehand, but not a massive deal breaker."

"Had a lovely 5 days at this beautiful house, which is perfectly situated to explore West Sussex. We loved the character of the buildings as well as the pool and it was great fun looking after the chickens. Lots of space outside and very well equipped in the kitchen."

"10 friends and I had a 3 night midweek stay for shopping and eating. Fabulous house with everything we needed. Had trouble with the oven heating up and with 11 of us we had to stagger our showers. Apart from that - all good 👍"
