"An amazing experience. I felt like I had been sent back in time to rural Japan. Tatami floors and a historic old world feel. Great price. It is an old home so it can get drafty. There are lots of heaters, but bring warm clothes if you come in a cold season. Perfect location. Literally one block from the historic town center. And it's right next to the morning street market. "

"Our stay here was definitely the highpoint of our trip. Hida Takayama is my favorite place in Japan. Our stay here made it even better. The residence was wonderful, relaxing, and felt like our home away from home. I would have gladly sell my house and move here. The staff also responded to any questions we had very quickly.
