"If you are after a "posh" hotel. This isn't it. What it is is a hotel with great staff, adequate room facilities that are spacious & clean and (above all) really good value. The friendliness of the staff seemed to generate a relaxed and friendly response in the visitors too. Each morning at breakfast guests would greet each other and talk about their days. Only a short (10-15 mins) walk from the bus and railway stations, this feels like a family run hotel. Despite being in the "off season" it was warm (in both senses of the word) and welcoming. I mustn't forget mentioning the breakfast (included in the cost of the room) that was a treat each morning. The Sunday carvery was also great, with the widest variety of different vegetables I have seen for quite a while. Thank you for pleasurable stay."

"Lovely valentines weekend,.excellent staff really friendly and attentive. Great room very clean and spacious. Spa area was brilliant, better than Celtic Manor, and the staff in there.were brilliant. We ate in the restaurant and the food was of a good standard, particularly the breakfasts which was excellent. "

"we were sposed to be out by 1 but left at 12 - blame the gf but the proprieter was more polite than i woul have been. i just mention this as the attitud of the owners - just friendly - so thanks and sorry ? im bit of a cheapo and so accordingly was the room - so i wasnt expecting much and got more than i bargained. must be very hard to keep an old pirate house shipshape overall plesaed. "Nice property with plenty of space. We stayed in winter but the deck would obviously be lovely in summer! Parking is available but is tricky and not ideal if you have a van - up a steep ramp and then requires reversing down a narrow lane to get out. Not impossible but not easy! There is parking in the village which was easily accessible when we stayed. "

"Perfect Hotel for a St Ives Visit After much research, I chose this hotel and couldn’t have been happier. We previously stayed at the Carbis Bay Hotel, but since the G7 summit, prices there have soared, and the walk or train into town feels inconvenient. Sea view rooms are a must. We enjoyed stunning sunsets as boats returned to harbour and even spotted dolphins playing in the morning. The in-room binoculars were a brilliant touch. The hotel combines modern, stylish design with the charm of an older building, featuring winding corridors leading to the spa. The spa is sleek, with a well-sized pool, two excellent saunas, a jacuzzi, and loungers offering stunning bay views. A full range of treatments is available. The bar and restaurant are creatively decorated and maximise the views. Food and drinks were enjoyable and met expectations. Things to Know: • The walk to town is 7–8 minutes downhill and uphill on return via steps or a steep slope. • Train and bus stations are a 5-minute walk. Valet parking is efficient—use the bays opposite the entrance and give notice when you need your car. Overall: I was fully satisfied and will definitely return."
