Easter 2011
Stayed 2 nights at Easter. Journey time approx 50 mins from Guangzhou East station. Taxi fare we paid was RMB 200.
Hotel is basically a golf hotel (swimming pool doesn't open until later afternoon) but we weren't golfers. Mix of good and bad I'd say in the experience of staying there, room was nice and big with lovely verandha but lot's of small details were not up to scratch. i.e. there was a glass window between bathroom and bedroom with venetian blind but the blinds were semi-broken.
Breakfast buffet was nice, with lots of choice including nice European bread and a chef cooking omlettes to order - however the omlettes cooked for guests were carelessly prepared whereas I happened to notice at the end of service the chef prepare one for a member of the backroom staff. In this case he took much more care over it and went to a neighbouring table to get salt which he hadn't bothered with for the guests. Also when new guests arrived a place was laid for them on a table abandoned by previous breakfasters without the surface being wiped clean - new mats and cultery were simply placed on the filthy table.
Chinese restaurant and Japanese restaurant were nice and the staff were on the whole pleasant with good command of English.
NB: there are no bicycles to rent as one internet site suggests.
