"Lovely hotel/lodgings. Beautiful bathroom! Nice and warm room. Cosy fire at the bar which was nice and cosy . Tastefully decorated. The food looked gorgeous as it was taken past us going to the restaurant, and we will eat here next time. ***Big shout out to Phoebe, our breakfast waitress. The breakfast chef didn't show up and until the replacement chef came, she was run off her feet supplying us all with toast and tea and coffee etc. She was fabulous and super friendly *** Downside -:the bar...

"Overall a good cheap little hotel. Didn’t try the food. Had some drinks. Disappointed I couldn’t taste the wine before buying (bottle was open. Got told no you can’t taste it but you can smell it!) 😂 that’s a first for me. "

"Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!"

"With so much to do and see in the Yorkshire dales, the Plough Inn is the perfect location. Very friendly and helpful staff escorting us to the room and making sure we were comfortable. Friendly bar staff providing a good selection of wines, beers and spirits at sensible prices. The restaurant menu is perfect. Simple and straightforward choice and the food is the same, just perfect."

"Amazing. Right from the start the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Food was delicious - we ate at the hotel for dinner - having the 'pigs' in blanket sharing starter and then both steak pies. Next morning - breakfast was great - although there was no 'bacon' for us - the server compensated by offering us additional sausages - so it wasn't too much of a disappointment. "

"Could not find fault with any part of the stay. We came to visit family and flew in from America. We will NOT stay anywhere else when we are back. Absolutely loved it! Staff are excellent, nothing was too much trouble."
