Initially attracted by the price which was a little cheaper than others in the area and I try to stay in pubs where possible rather than budget chain hotel type places. Found the whole experience to be really lovely. The room was basic, pretty much as I had expected but was clean throughout and had all the amenities I really needed: tea & coffee, towels, en-suite & shower. Couldn't ask for more really. Staff were friendly and welcoming as was...

The room was fantastic and had everything you need, tea, coffee, shower & my room also had a bath.Plenty of parking directly outside your room. The pub itself was lovely, the food was fantastic along with the traditional English breakfast i had in the morning. Nothing but good things to say about the Fox Inn.."

My only concern was our window would Not stay open & we were very hot during the night although a fan was in the room could not sleep with it on, In the morning very little hot water pressure, this could be the someone else had the hot water running at the same time, these were very small negatives but would definitely stay here again "

Cobwebs in the bathroom as well Breakfast was ok We did inform someone about the toilet seat again when we checked out"

"A lovely homely cottage, comfortable and well equipped, with a rather special riverside location offering views and privacy. Our first time to this area so enjoyed some river walks and hearing interesting history of Rowhedge gleaned from the very friendly locals. We only had a short stay but got a lot in , including a trip to Wivenhoe on the riverside opposite. Will definitely rebook next time we are 'out East' ."
