Grand Lake
The property is close to Rocky Mountain national park so access is easy. We spent most of our time in the park and only utilized the property as a sort of home base.
The Roundhouse is a beautiful, spacious home with magnificent views of Shadow Mountain Lake and the Rocky Mountains. John was a very accommodating host and we would definitely stay there again if we are back in the area. A short walk to a really fun downtown area and the lake. Also very convenient for access to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance which is less than 10 minutes from the house.
Terrific property! Just what you would want in a quaint little resort town. Plenty of room to stretch out and fine amenities. Quick responses from the owner whenever I reached out.

Great stay. Excellent location. It was hard to find how to get to the property once in Grand Lake.
Overall a very pleasant stay. The property worked great for our group. Finding it once in town was tricky. Even the locals gave us incorrect instructions as to how to get to the house.
Beautiful View from the wrap around deck, the house is on a hill and is a great spot to look over the town and lake. If you are staying in the winter the driveway can be a little tricky, but there was a truck that came and plowed the snow in the mornings. Host was very nice and responsive. Would definitely stay again!
Was a pleasant stay, great view, house is well kept. Very spacious for your lake getaway! Only down fall would be limited parking. Property owner replied in a timely manner. Would return in the near future.
My 2 sisters and I stayed at the Round House in Grand Lake. We had a really nice time. The house suited us well, it had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We were able to use the washer and dryer and the kitchen was nice. The view from the house was beautiful! The owner was very attentive to our questions.
The parking was a little tricky at the house.
Loved out stay in Grand Lake!
The round house was perfect for my family to spend the week of July 4th at Grand Lake. We got to see the fireworks at Grand Lake without obstruction & dealing with the crowd. Also a bear came strolling through right below us on the 4th. It was a great week to spend at Grand Lake. John was a great host & hopefully we will be able to return for a future vacation.
Beautiful view of Grand Lake and walking distance to downtown. Unique home with lots of windows and comfortable couches. Lots of places to eat and large patio with good seating. Downstairs beds were good, upstairs bed was 4 pieces of mattress/box spring and was too soft. Priced right for the value received, older home which should have some updates and repairs.
This is a very nice property with a spacious deck. The location was wonderful, with a grocery store very near. It has a nice BBQ grill and seating to enjoy a meal outdoors. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and had plenty of towels and washcloths. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook our meals.
The deck would be perfect for viewing the 4th of July fireworks - hopefully next year when COVID does not cancel the event.
The owner was very good about answering any questions we had. All in all it was a very nice and relaxing stay.

Lots of space but needs updatews
Overall the location of the property was excellent. Easy to access. The description feel a bit short - stating the place was "newly renovated". We didn't find this to be the case. While the property can sleep 6 very comfortably with 3 separate bedrooms, there was a place for 6 people to dine. Looking back at the description and photos now, I can see that the photos are accurate, showing only a small table for 4. There are various bars/counters around the main floor to eat but not family style - also made game/card playing difficult. Additionally, upon arrival you are informed that you may only park 2 cars on the shared driveway, this would have been great to know ahead of time as we had three couples that had made the trek from Boulder. The main floor flooring was very unsafe, uneven floor boards not ideal for an elderly couple. Otherwise, we made do - adequate cooking items & dishes. Nice not to have to strip beds or remove trash upon departure. Location made it all worth it.

Hard to rate.
The property was a bit rundown. Lots of pealing paint. No dishwasher. No mirror above the sink in the main bathroom, which made shaving difficult. Had to go back and forth between the sink and a full-length mirror on the other side of the bathroom that wasn't well lighted. Shower in that bathroom was standup style like on a cruise ship. Hard to bend down. The pull-out couch turned out to be a lazy boy type recliner (without sheets) in the living room area. On the other hand our grandchildren loved sleeping on it, until the 5 year old granddaughter rolled onto the end and the whole thing collapsed in the middle of the night. Not sure what would have happened the second night. Two of the grandchildren fell asleep watching a movie on the recliner and my son-in-law carried the 5 year old granddaughter downstairs to sleep with them and the 11 year old granddaughter walked. Only the 9 year old grandson slept on it. There was a jacuzzi in the main bathroom. The grandchildren were excited about that too. It spewed out some sort of gunk when the jets were turned on (apparently hadn't been used in some time). Even so, our grandson cleaned out all the gunk so he could use it the second night. It's hard to complain about a place our grandchildren loved.
