"Pleasant check in, clean room"

"My wife and I spent an absolutely wonderful 3 days at the Mountain View while on a fall foliage trip. The ambiance of the place is noteworthy. It is a classic 19th century resort hotel, but it was completely restored in 2002 and looks fresh. We sat on the outdoor porch/veranda every evening before sunset, sipping wine and chatting with other guests, looking over an expansive view of white mountains including Mt. Washington. Like being in paradise. Service and food were excellent. Too bad the fine dining restaurant, the "1865" was only open Thursday-Saturday."

"Everything was excellent, but the mattress was like a sinking ship - much to soft, the kind I would find in a one star motel. It was really bad for my back as I need, at minimum, a medium firmness mattress. "
