The views of the White Mountains were wonderful. The staff offered to help in any way possible to make our stay great! The resort’s historic charm made our stay enjoyable.

We have stayed here multiple times in all seasons but were a bit disappointed this visit. The bathroom floor was not cleaned (dirt from boots there until I cleaned it) and someone’s (not mine) hair was found two days. We had issues with the coffee machine in the room not working and coffee capsules were not replaced. As we are early risers, waiting until breakfast for coffee was a tough start to a day. Coffee in the foyer like other destinations early on would be great. Breakfast was mediocre unfortunately, we went down the road for made to order breakfast. Also don't understand the “meal tax” when we only ate there 2days, charged for three. On the plus side the renovations look great, very modern and crisp. And the room was delightful, bed comfortable. We will be back and hope to see some changes. I

Our family has loved for years. It is a beautiful location and lovely historic building. We love visiting the on site farm. The area around the hotel has nice downtown to visit. We highly recommend the MVG.

We came to this property to enjoy the amenities promised. We came to find out at check-in that the amenities listed on their website were not actually offered. The manager was very kind but when housekeeping left our door open it was the final straw. We will not be returning and will encourage others to find better places to stay.

My husband and I have always loved MVG. We took our children for a Christmas getaway here and they loved it, too! Always a great experience any time of the, but it is so magical at Christmas time!

Beautiful views. Very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent massage by Cassandra at the spa. Learned a lot from Jessica, the farmer, at the barn. MVG would be a great place for a knitting or weaving workshop and to learn more about the wool, etc. Might be nice to have their yarn in the gift shop. By magic ( or hard working staff who came in at 3:30-4:00 am) Christmas decorations were all in place the day after Thanksgiving (when we had a delicious buffet).Also meals at the restaurant were very good and my partner said he had the best pizza he’d ever eaten. My only complaint was that our room was rather small with only one chair (2 of us) compared to our friends who by luck had a corner room which was larger ( same price). Other than that it was a very enjoyable stay.

Back again at the MVG and it never disappoints. Classic yet updated New England hotel. The food is amazing, the views spectacular, the staff are wonderful and the entire venue is very family-friendly from toddlers to teens. Great for everything from a lunch/dinner drop-in to a wedding/event and everything in between.
