"This was a pleasant surprise in terms of service. All of the staff was cordial, and Luan at the front desk went above and beyond to help me out several times. On Luan's excellent recommendation, I took a great " Best of Rio" tour. The neighborhood is very safe, so no worries there. I also enjoyed the breakfast every morning. Another big plus is the generous space allocated for the use of guests outside the rooms. I would definitely stay at Villa 25 again in the future. Muito obrigada!"

"I had a tiny private room with an even tinier bathroom. Had I known how small and bare bones my accommodation would be I probably wouldn't have selected it for a 5 day stay. However, it was clean and within walking distance of the beach and other landmarks."

"My stay at El Misti was superb!! I stayed in a private room during 7-13 November. It was my first time in Rio, and this was the perfect place to meet people!! They organise lots of events, and having easy access to the beach with a ticket for a free chair is an addes bonus! I can definitely recommend El Misti to others, and will likely stay here (or at least visit the amazing bar during happy hour!!) when I return, muito obrigado El Misti!! Tom"

"I really enjoyed my one-week stay at Aquarele do Leme. The staff is great: super helpful and friendly. Even the owner, Thibault, is very nice and accessible. The terrace is the best. "Poor experience given the price paid which was $30 per night for a dormitory. The breakfast buffet is minimal and dissolved quickly by people who literally thrust it into their bags without any oversight, and from thereon it isn't replenished correctly for all the other guests.The guy responsible for making the breakfast was super rude too. The entire place isn't effectively cleaned either which is sadly the reason why I have to give 1 star. Even with the few negatives expressed, I was itching...

"Very modern and beautiful property, fantastic location with beautiful ocean view. The bedroom was not the street side so it’s nice and quiet. We had a little difficult time at checking in since the front desk didn’t speak English, but we had a local friend helped us. "

"This property has a great location but doesn't mean that cleaniness should be sacrificed. This is an old building but it doesn't mean that the apartment shouldn't be up kept. The paint, the furniture, the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen, the toilet were all old and dirty. There was even a roach walking on the shower curtain. I've stayed at many small old apartments in many apartments but never like this one."
