"Everything was fine except the elevator was out of service and there were 23 stairs, hard for someone like me with mobility issues. Also, the photos make it seem as though the rooms have private balconies, but they do not. A common walkway connects the rooms and there are chairs for sitting on that walkway. Rooms 211 &212 would be best to avoid foot traffic in front of your room and also have the best views. Food in restaurant was good and included breakfast quite substantial. The area is quiet...

"Playa Cativo Lodge is a wonderful place and the accommodations, food and staff were absolutely perfect. It was nice to be so close to the gulf which was calm, warm, sandy and perfect for swimming. My only complaint was that the entire front area of the lodge has been landscaped with grass and ornamental plants, many of which are not native. Because of this large open area few birds or animals come near the lodge. Bird watching was disappointing compared to lodges that have left the rainforest...

"We booked this hotel for a quick stay after a long days bus ride. At time of booking a message was sent to management letting them know that our arrival to the hotel would be late as there was a lengthy bus ride and as the expedia app explained late check in was available as per availability whatever that means. The hotel responded a little later that late check in would not be possible and sorry for the inconvenience. Inconvenience? We were only a few hours from our destination at this point...

"The local host Denier was more than accommodating, I would return because of his management skills, you can tell he likes to run a happy and friendly, secure hotel. Excellent service, great food. The place is clean, quiet, right by the Gulf with a dock and a pool. At the moment The restaurant was closed but we did have the included breakfast. The room was comfortable, A/C, TV, wifi available too(since phone reception is a bit tricky), refrigerator (there also more basic options on other rooms)....
