"Massive thanks to the staff. Check in was between 2PM and 6.30 PM, which wasn’t convenient for me, so they gave me a security code to get in the front door, and left my door key in an envelope inside so I could arrive when I was ready. Also looked after my luggage while I was out for the afternoon. Owner is really helpful with guides as to where to go, and how to get there. Nothing seemed too much trouble. "Look, it’s a guesthouse not the Ritz! Room was small but perfectly functional and newly fitted out. Property itself slightly stuck in a time warp but really well managed and friendly. Excellent breakfast."

"All good here, was upgraded to double room with a really good view. Breakfast was excellent and Alan the owner was very knowledgeable about the island, so yes no problems and from my experience I would certainly recommend when staying in the area."

"The property suited are needs down to the ground, did not have any issues at all. Although it is a shared house we had no issues at all because we realised that before booking. The owners are lovely people and we were so lucky to meet them and have a lovely chat each day. Very homely place, very clean and home from home, would stay again without a problem"

However, it sells itself as a luxury apartment and it doesn’t live up to it. Eg. In the bedroom there is only one bedside table and lamp. On one corner of the bed there is only six inches in which to get past. The wardrobe is not great quality and the sliding door comes of it’s rail easily. "Kittiwake House was an excellent place to stay in Port Erin and a very convenient base for exploring all of Isle of Man. There's so much within a short walk (Tesco, restaurants, takeaway, The Isle of Man Railway, etc) that a handier location is hard to imagine.
