"When we arrived the check in process was very easy. The cottage itself was very clean and warm. Bed was comfortable and two bathrooms which is great of you stay with a whole family. If you want to use the hot tub make sure to tell the owners immediately once you book. I told them a week before arriving and had had to ask twice to be able to use it. We could see in the guest book other people had been greeted with welcome basket. We didn’t. Would also been great if there were a welcome letter...

Communication before and during our stay with Sue, the host was also excellent, and we were very appreciative of the board games she loaned for us to play with the children! Only issue was high back chair that was damaged with no note to say it had been noticed and or reported, we emailed Cottages.com but no reply ! "Working over Christmas we booked this break to get away from all the madness. Just us and the dog. Thimblewynd was just perfect and we loved it. Peaceful and comfy throughout we chilled out in front of thr log burner or in the hot tub, the tv wasn't on once! We eat at the Kirkstyle Inn which was lovely but made ourselves breakfast and snacks in the well equipped kitchen. There was not a single thing we could fault and we loved every minute. Thanks to Maggie for hosting us. "

"Ideal location with charming village area nearby. Easy walk to local pub and to the water. Flat was spacious and well equipped; but could have used a bit more maintenance and some air freshener (near the sea, so a bit of a damp, musty smell). It was a bit farther from central Edinburg (~40 min) than I had expected; but the quaint village feel of the area was well worth the few extra minutes drive. All in all a nice place to support local sight seeing and day trips."
