"Salcombe Harbour Hotel certainly didn’t disappoint. Having stayed in Harbour Hotels before we knew it would be good but it really was exceptional. The service from start to finish was superb, the room not overly big but incredibly comfortable and the balcony with seating and a sunbed (plus lucky to have some nice English weather during our visit) made the room with the stunning view just perfect. We had breakfast in bed two mornings, and each day it was brought absolutely on time and piping hot, with excellent quality sausages, bacon and eggs. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and in the. Ar on our second, having decided to stay within the hotel the second night rather than eat locally because it would have been difficult to have beaten the food and service. The bar food was again exceptional, and even on a Friday night without a booking, there was no difficulty getting seated, served and it was fantastic. Overall we couldn’t have been happier with the stay. Particular mention needs to go to Jason and the team in the restaurant whose service was practically the best we have ever had. We will definitely be back. "

"Beautiful, the views really make this hotel magical. Its tucked away so you need a car if you're going out for dinner, the ferry is about a 30 minute walk and up/down steep steps, and stops at 6:30pm. Drinks were outrageously priced.. £16.50 for a beer, a soft drink and two packets of crisps!! All is forgiven when you take in the sea though. The interiors are also beautiful. Breakfast overlooking the little cove was just the most incredible way to start the day, and it was delicious! One irritation for me is not having anywhere to put shower gel etc. in the shower - but now I am being picky!! "

"Great apartment with lovely views. We were a party of four and had plenty of room. One balcony overlooks the car park and then onto the sea but still offered lovely views. The second balcony off the main bedroom directly overlooks the estuary. The flat was clean although the pillows on the sofa were dusty and could do with a wash or replacing. All in all we had a great stay. The south Sands Hotel and Harbour Beach Hotel both have good restaurants. Nothing hugely fancy but good with friendly service."

Just one issue was the lack of response from the emergancey contact number on the hotels.com confirmation email.....when we could not get in the property, and the key was not in the key safe!.....still waiting for an answer to our call & text.....very poor. We managed to find the key, and text the owners, who replied promptly and were lovely."

"On first arrival the cottage was lovely; a bit quirky but looked as if it would meet our needs. However, considering the cottage slept quite at least 8 adults there wasn’t enough seating in the TV room to accommodate that many. The TV did not have BBC channels so we couldn’t watch Strictly on the Saturday! A smart TV would be better as many people have subscriptions to streaming services. Also the TV in the big bedroom but want connect by aerial; there was an aerial but it was too short to reach the TV! There were no mirrors in the bedrooms so we didn’t have anything to do make up or dry hair! The mirror in the shower room upstairs didn’t work and the towel rail was cold! We found the switch on our last day! "

"Beautiful, luxurious accommodation in stunning gardens. Immaculate decor, linens & toiletries. Whilst it is very well equipped with crockery etc you need to take, sugar, tea, salt pepper etc as only coffee pods provided - nearest shop an hour round trip in car! Excellent location for East Portlemouth beaches, walks and foot ferry."
