"We really enjoyed the stay that was truly a calming one. It was exactly as per the pictures, clean and with a great view from our room! Staff were also friendly and kind, despite a slight language barrier as we did not speak much korean. There are cafes and eateries in walking distance too. Highly recommend this place to those who are looking for a respite from busy city life and need a refreshing rest. "

"We had a wonderful budget stay with 8 family members. Enough space for social time, good breakfasts and hosts. Gangneung has a lot to offer, the local markets, churches, historical buildings plus lots of good eateries nearby & over the seaside. Just keep your eyes open. We don't speak korean but everyone was friendly & helpful. Bus access is nearby though we drove mostly as a group. Just be mindful that you may need to stay out between 1000-1500 for it's cleaning time. "

"I fell in love with this place. Just the perfect, quiet stay by the beach. There are cute restaurants and cafes around, and you can fall asleep to the sound of waves. The owner was so kind - he even offered me some gimbap for breakfast. I hope I will have a chance to go back someday, it truly felt like a dream. "

"Overall - it's clean, it's safe, it's warm, and there are lockers - it does the job for "I need to sleep somewhere warm and clean", which is all I needed it to do. It's really hard to find the guesthouse - the address on hotels.com is only written in English, but most of the cab drivers don't speak English. It's a good idea to get the address in Korean. "The hostel was in a great location, right on the beach and an easy walk up to Naksansa, as well as a short bus or taxi ride from Yangyang town. The bathrooms however had a lot of mould, and there was almost never anyone at reception to ask for directions, mind your belongings, or even just give general info on the area. Maybe it was off-peak season too, but there was no atmosphere to be found here."
