"One of the best hotels we ever stayed. Our room was not large but it was comfortable and we had enough space to put our stuff. The service was impeccable the people that work at this hotel could not be friendlier. They help us with dinner suggestions, buying bus tickets, tourist attractions. They served us delicious breakfast that was freshly prepared every morning. We had the best view of the Douro River. I would stay there again!"

"My concerns were about the arrival process. I booked this on the train from Lisbon arriving at 2:45 pm. "we did late-check-in. but the way that pass the key was really irresponsible and NOT safe, I think. I didnt realize her contact & 24hour contact didn't work, so we took long time to check-in (Guimaraes might be a safe place, but...😥😫) Also "the reception opens at 10am" is too late. the price is really reasonable if guests don't do late-check-in. "The AC never got cold even on the lowest setting. On the main area there was a strong smell, like garbage and it was there for over a day even though they came to clean the room, no one bothered to empty the trash, the smell was so bad it came into our room. The hotel is in a good area, we felt safe but far from the touristy area and the walk to the train station was long, it was hard to get UBER there so we had to walk several times. "
