"The hotel itself was nice in a very modern way but bar service was somewhat lacking with the sole person running the place disappearing for long periods leaving us with empty glasses and eventually giving up waiting for further drinks, both in the afternoon after arrival and later in the evening after eating."

The room was simple, but spacious and very comfortable. The Friars are warm and welcoming; they welcome participation in prayers and services, though there is no expectation to do so. "10 minute walk to the historic centre of town over a very impressive viaduct that is purely for pedestrian traffic. lots of places to eat and drink that can accommodate any pocket. Good value for money, secure garage parking for a small charge; the room was spotless and the shower was fantastic! Only down side ,the double bed was a touch on the small side. "

"It was nice to have a pool for the kids. But it is really dark. The staff is really nice and friendly. But for the price the hotel needs to update. It could be set iup to have more inviting public spaces. Sections such as the salon and the pool are very dated. Staff is very friendly and helpful which goes a long way."
