Commerce St Luxury! Gazette Suites-Steps 2 Main St.-Dedicated Parking Spot!

Welcome to Gazette Suites ON Commerce! You will love our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom luxury suite in beautiful downtown Galena. Just steps to a private parking spot and just around the corner from the dining and shopping. This home is not pet friendly.

Our 2nd story rental overlooks Commerce St. Enter our cozy enclosed staircase off of Commerce Street and head up a set of stairs to enjoy our completely renovated, modern suite. The apartment has a beautiful kitchen with a modern feel and all new appliances. The kitchen is open to the living room with a view to the fun downtown. Sit and enjoy your favorite show on the flat-screen tv or cozy up to the fire. Our large bedrooms feature king-size beds with plush mattresses, quality linens and private access to bathrooms. They are situated opposite of each other for the ultimate privacy. We will have a queen air mattress onsite for your plus one to utilize. To top it off we have our own assigned parking spot just a short walk away located on Hill St behind Hello Galena. Think friend getaway or family staycation! This location will be impossible to beat! Please NOTE: There are a long set of stairs to the second floor where the unit is located.

When you book a home with us we will require 30% down, this is a payment not a deposit. The full balance is due 14 days before check in. If you cancel prior to the 14 days you will receive the first payment less a $35 cancellation fee. At the 14-day mark your stay will become non-refundable and dates cannot be adjusted. Your payments will automatically be processed to the card you place on file at the time of your booking. Your rental agreement (sent after booking) will reflect the due dates and amounts. Please Note: You will be required to sign an electronic rental agreement at the time of booking, we ask this be signed and filed within 48 hours of receiving it to guarantee your reservation. You must be 25 or older at the time of booking and be present during the entire stay.

Our cancellation policy is not flexible, please review it carefully - we highly recommend travel insurance.

Check-in details are sent 3 days prior to your arrival to the email on file. This includes the home's address, the access code and other pertinent home/area information. Early check-in is never guaranteed and cannot be considered until the night before or the morning of your arrival. The check-in details will cover this process. Please note we do not provide toiletries in the home. We will provide dish soap, dish detergent, hand soap, laundry detergent and paper products.

Fabulous place!
First off, you can’t beat the location and dedicated parking space! The suite was the perfect size for 4-5 people! Even though there is not a dining table the island had plenty of room for us to spread out to use for our various needs. The beds were so comfortable!!! All of us have different bed preferences but everyone was so happy with how well we slept in them! There were enough side tables for everyone to use. We’ve stayed at our share of vrbos and it was so nice to have toilet paper and papers towels stocked. The communication with the Mgr was easy and fast response. The only minor thing we could suggest is a set of coasters for our drinks as we did not want to ruin the side tables or night stands. Oh, and yes you will need to go up steps to the suite but there are steps everywhere in Galena! We agree we would stay here again for sure!!

Perfect Location
This super clean, well decorated condo is perfectly located just steps from Galen's famous downtown. I enjoyed the learning about the buildings newspaper history. The trip was a 4 day getaway with my sisters and we had an amazing time. NOTE: There is absolutely nothing consumable supplied in the kitchen with the exception of coffee pods. Was surprised there was no sugar or powdered coffee creamer, also no salt and pepper. These are typically supplied by VRBO properties.

Perfect location for traversing the Main Street places, restaurants; etc. The size and design of this property was lovely for two couples. Nothing was missing for us. We were last in Galena is the late '90s and it's even better than I remember! We'd definitely recommending this location.

We loved everything about our stay at the Gazette Suites. The property was beautiful, immaculate and a great location. The steps were a bit challenging for my 86 year old mom, but overall ended up being fine. The only negative (and it is minor) was the television channels were limited.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Immaculate space with nearly every detail perfect. Beds are temperpedic and were very comfortable for someone with fibromyalgia. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking. I would have used a hot water kettle, but using a pan was fine. There are only 2 king size beds. I did find a blow up mattress in the closet at the end of our stay, but the only space it would fit would be the living room area. 4 people can stay comfortably if they can sleep in 2 beds. The unit was very quiet and soundproof. Loved having a code so everyone could come and go easily.The stairs to get to the second floor are steep and it's a big staircase so that should be factored in when considering this rental. There were enough towels but definitely not extra, so you may want to bring your own, especially if you want your own hand/face towel.It was nice to have a dedicated parking spot, but there is only one about a block away. You can walk across the grass past the public bathroom building directly to it. We met up in Galena and had multiple cars, so parking the first day was a problem. But in the evening, spots open up in front of the building and you can leave your car on the same side of the street as the building (3 hour limit during the day on other side).All in all, we loved this rental and would stay again.

Location is ideal for shopping, dining, sightseeing. Walked to Grant Park and then later walked on River Trail. Beds are comfy, kitchen has all you need for cooking, but bring your own spices, oils, condiments as there are none. If you have trouble with stairs, take note there are 20 steps in a narrow,but well lit, hallway to get to unit. Reserved parking spot was close if no street parking available. Only downside to this unit is there is no outside space to chill but that is just something we prefer. Would not stop us from staying again, great spot. 😀

We were impressed by the cleanliness of the place. It has a fully stocked kitchen (crock pot, toaster, Keurig, coffee maker, baking pans) Very tastefully decorated. It felt homey. The proximity to Main St with all the shops and restaurants was very convenient. No need to drive, unless we went to explore. Only cons: steep stairs to get up to the apartment. The bedroom with the on-suite doesn’t have a window We would stay here again! 5⭐️ all around

Spotless, perfect location and a great parking spot, which was helpful because parking is hard to come by. The place had the cutest decor and comfortable beds. Everything you could think of was provided! Even came with a speaker and games for a perfect night in. Would go back in a heartbeat!

The bedrooms are a good size an I oive they were on opposite sides of the communal living area. Parking was super convenient and the home is located so close to all the restaurants and shops! The rental manager was very responsive. My only advice would be additional wash clothes for facial cleaning.
