Historic property next to another historic property in an historic town. So much easily accessible by walking or by car. Practically on the Galena River Trail.

Very cozy and perfect location
Great place walking distance to historical downtown Galena. Rooms were cozy and beds were very comfortable. I typically have a hard time sleeping in a different bed from my own, but these beds were great. Look forward to staying here again!

Convenient and cozy location
This was an ideal property to stay at while visiting Galena. Walking distance to downtown, nice common sitting area with two separate bedrooms. Owners were wonderful to work with. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location!
Easy to walk to the downtown streets if you choose which was a main reason we booked! Easy check in, no complicated aspects of renting this condo style area and easy parking!

This is a quaint 1800's house that is just a short 5 min walk from downtown Galena. Location is fantastic. Hosts were very easy to work with and had excellent communication! Cozy 2 bed with sitting area - no TV, but lots of games and spots to curl up with a good book. Narrow stairs up to unit as mentioned in description. The unit is a bit drafty and had some ladybugs during our stay - but expected in a home of this age. Also to note -- is right on one of the main streets and near train tracks, so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs, as it can get noisy. Overall a wonderful place to stay while visiting Galena!

Everything was perfect. The house was very cute, and cozy. Its literally a frw blocks from the downtown area of Galena. Perfect place to stay! The host was also very accommodating, and polite. Will definitely be staying again in the future

We loved the space, the games, the rooms! Definitely will consider staying there again for our next trip! The little extra touches were nice - the snack bags and waters. The towels were very soft and thick! Very cute VRBO!

Very comfortable and excellent location
We had a great stay here. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It was an easy walk into the main ares on Galena. Note that it is on a busy street so there is some traffic noise and train noise. Didn’t bother us but worth noting for others.

Quaint place Close to Galena downtown
We enjoyed our time at this location and the owners were super communicative and very helpful. One thing I didn’t understand from the listing is that the bottom floor of this home is empty currently. also didn’t understand that the bathroom would be in the hallway and not enclosed in the two room and sitting area suite. Place was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. You can walk to town in 12 minutes and we enjoyed our stay.

This is the second floor of a house on the historic tour. My friend and I absolutely loved the layout and furniture. Extremely clean and very comfortable. The owners thought of everything, treat bags, coffee, tea, a small fridge, fluffy towels, extra pillows and blankets. Great location to Main Street. Beautiful time of year. We will definitely be back!!

Great place!
This was a great place to stay at. It is very close to downtown area. Private parking in the back is very convenient. Rooms are spacious! At night, you do hear all the traffic but I use ear plugs and you get used to it, not a big deal at all, don't let that dissuade you from booking! We will definitely be back 😊

Beautiful Vintage House
The house was beautiful. I loved all the original items in the house, and it definitely felt like stepping back in time a little without taking away from the modern comforts of today. The hosts were also very responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and the trip itself. They left cute little goody bags in each bedroom of some food items, and had some extra items in the house that you might have forgot at home (tooth brush, floss, shampoo/conditioner, and even ear plugs!) I love Galena, and we’ll definitely be back to stay at the Driftless Get Away again.

Very nice location and clean. The beds were very comfortable. It was very hot during our visit and bathroom didn’t have air conditioning. It made getting ready to go out difficult. Other than that everything was great!

Really neat place to stay!
This place was great for our weekend in Galena! There were lots of fun and nice touches in the house like games for the kids, hidden chocolates, a welcome bag, and cute decorations. We were able to walk everywhere from the house. The only downsides of the location were not having a kitchen (I didn't read the description closely enough to realize it didn't have a kitchen) and the loud road right next to the house with trucks that made the whole house shake throughout the night.

Girls Weekend
My cousins and I went to Galena to celebrate a birthday. I have a love for older houses snd these accommodations were just perfect. I just loved the claw foot tub and probably took a 2 hour soak in it at the end of a long day off wine tasting and shopping. It was a perfect location being just a short relaxing walk across the bridge. The hosts were wonderful with their goody bags and other accommodations. Beds were comfortable and there was a nice array of coffees and teas to choose from in the morning. Three of us stayed there very comfortably. We will definitely be going back to Galena and we hope to stay there again. 😊

Historic house with charm
The house was clean and the rooms are nicely furnished. A lot of little extras and coffee was appreciated. Very close to the main drag in Galena. Property manager/owner was very responsive and accommodating. One thing for a renter to know in the summer is that the bathroom is down the hall from the bedrooms and has no air conditioning. Since our stay was in August, it was an inconvenience and very hot to shower and get ready in the bathroom. We showered there and then had to get ready in our bedrooms because of the heat.

Even better the second time
This was my second time staying at this property. The first time was with my husband a few years ago and this time was with my best friend for a girls weekend. The house was even cuter this time around, and is stocked with whatever you need. Very thoughtful touches throughout. Keep in mind, it is an old historic home so even though it was not an issue for us personally, there are steep-ish stairs up to the second level and a clawfoot tub for the shower that doesn't have the best drainage so it may be difficult for those with mobility issues. But we love old homes with all their quirks so this just added to the charm of our stay. Also, the location is just perfect. The next time we visit Galena we'll probably try to stay here yet again! Awesome experience overall.
