Whole-cottage rental near Kawaguchiko & Saiko; wood stove, BBQ, Mt. Fuji views

Just about 90 minutes by car from central Tokyo, Saiko (Lake Sai), located at an altitude of 900 meters, is an area among the Fuji Five Lakes renowned for its tranquility and natural beauty. Saiko is largely undeveloped commercially, preserving much of its original nature. Strolling along the lakeshore, you can enjoy breathtaking views featuring the contrast of Mt. Fuji, the lush green sea of trees, and the cobalt blue lake surface. Thanks to these views, the Saiko area quietly appears in many domestic and international advertisements-many people have likely seen it without realizing. Wild animals such as deer and serow occasionally appear nearby, allowing you to experience the great outdoors just a short distance from the city.

Saiko is also famous as the place where the kunimasu trout, once thought extinct, was rediscovered. Efforts to protect the rich ecosystem are ongoing, and swimming is fully prohibited. As a result, there is no noise or waves from motorboats, making it possible to enjoy fishing as well as water activities like kayaking and SUP on the mirror-like lake surface. Additionally, with a compact circumference of about 10 km, Saiko is popular for walking, jogging, and cycling.

"Weekend House Saiko" sits on about 3,500㎡ of land with cottages A through E, and another 4,000㎡ with cottages G and F. Each cottage is over 100㎡, offering a spacious and tranquil environment that can be rented as an entire building-this exclusivity is the main appeal. All cottages are equipped with a wood stove and floor heating, and the kitchens are fully stocked, allowing you to enjoy cooking with local ingredients. On your private deck, you can relax in a hammock or have a BBQ while taking in views of the forest or lakeshore. In the morning, enjoy coffee to the sound of birdsong; at night, marvel at the star-filled sky. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city, digitally detox, and tune your mind and body through the richness of nature.

At "Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba," you’ll find a restored village of thatched-roof houses set against the foothills of Mt. Fuji, with cherry blossoms adding to the scenery in spring. Other dynamic natural attractions include Narusawa Ice Cave, Fugaku Wind Cave-the largest lava caves at the base of Mt. Fuji-and the Aokigahara sea of trees. Kawaguchiko is just a 5-minute drive away, while Arakurayama Sengen Park (famous for photos of Mt. Fuji and the five-story pagoda together) and Nishiura Street (noted for its views of Mt. Fuji and the shopping street) are about 30 minutes by car. Using tranquil Saiko as your base, you can enjoy a variety of popular spots.
