Not What We Expected
We enjoyed getting together for the weekend and saw many sites in the area. The cabin was just too far off the beaten path for us. We didn’t feel comfortable on the roads at night so we stayed in.

Great Getaway!
We had a wonderful weekend getaway. The unit was very clean and comfortable. We look forward to coming back again for a longer stay. The views were beautiful and it was the perfect place to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Thanks Chloe for providing us with a marvelous weekend retreat. We would recommend this property to our friends without hesitation.

Clean , spacious & met all our expections.
Loved the unit, had everything we needed and was very quiet. We saw two deer one morning, so beautiful. Want to spend more time here next year sitting on that patio , enjoying all the foilage and critters.
Owner Chloe was very nice, wanted to make sure our stay was pleasant.
The one restaurant we wanted to
Visit was closed on Sunday but we did stop at O'sage farm market in Rabun Gap & took some great vegetables home with us. They had heirloom cherokee tomatoes which we rarely find. The vegetables grown in this area are soooo good.
Would recommend this rental for anyone wanting to be surrounded by nature and a quiet getaway yet close to so much to do if so inclined.
We will return.
Our Gps took us right to the street but the directions provided by the owner are a must. We appreciated her thoughtfulness.
Overall we had a good time. The location is absolutely beautiful, the space was good but the drive up was a struggle. I had read the reviews and was confident that if a Prius can make it, my Kona EV could make it. It was a challenge. I got stuck at one point, even rolling backward. I could not get my car to move forward. After, trying and trying and smelling burning from my vehicle, we finally made it. But because of the challenge we felt like we couldn't leave or we would risk the same challenge again, which was quite scary, especially with two kids and the very narrow road. I would recommend 4 wheel drive/AWD and arriving before dark as I think navigating after dark for the first time would be near impossible. Chloe is awesome, communicative and helpful.
A beautiful place in the woods. The host was very kind and friendly. We enjoyed it a lot.

Not exactly what we expected!
Pros: Beautiful, secluded spot. Two-story house with full first floor to ourselves. Fully stocked kitchen. Roomy bedrooms and baths. Pet friendly.
Cons: This property was further out than we expected, a 30 minute drive from town. The owner did give us very clear directions which was helpful since there is virtually no internet service. We were told the key would be on the table when we arrived but after arriving we were told there was no key and that she was in the process of replacing the lock. She assured us no one would come into the house but we did not like the idea of leaving without being able to lock the door. There was a very strong odor like a very old house that had been closed up for a long time but the owner said she was not aware of it. Luckily, we had candles that we burned to cover the odor.
Overall: Steep gravel driveway, four-wheel drive highly recommended. This location was not exactly to our liking so we would not stay again.
What a beautiful location up in the NC mountains. The location was perfect for the places we visited but we like the backroads. Yes, the driveway is steep, but nothing crazy and the gravel helps. Chloe the owner is great and responsive.
We enjoyed our stay so much and there was plenty of room for all 4 of us, and our dog! We would highly recommend Chloe’s rental.
it was an awesome vacation altogether. The gravel road drive is really a hurdle if you are traveling at night. Otherwise, it's a nice hideout. The property owner was always there to answer your questions. We saw few deers and a large king snake nearby.
Thanks
This is our second year staying with Chloe, if you want a peaceful hideaway this is your place! We love the quiet escape and remote location. Another fabulous stay!!!

Renter beware
The driveway to the house about 1/2 mile gravel which they said and said put in low gear but if you have a small car it’s very difficult to get up that driveway you wouldn’t make it in the winter. The drive to town is 25 min like they said but it’s a long drive pretty but way to log unless you’re staying at the house. The furniture is like from the thrift store old and way to much of it to many old different pictures and nic nac’s old yellow placemats and bedsheets. Only a couple of towels and I asked if there were towels ahead of time. There is nowhere to walk your dog and there is no view. I would not want someone to get the wrong impression like I did of the pics on line. We did leave a day early and would of left sooner but I was closing on a home so we couldn’t. The stove does not work good and the air conditioning makes so much noise in the one bedroom you have to wear earplugs. There was so much I cannot go into but hope you get what I’m saying. Would not want someone to be as disappointed as we were.
We are a military family in the midst of a an overseas move and needed a place to call home during our transition. This sweet home nestled in the mountains was a perfect place to rest and breath deep!! Chloe was wonderful. Her directions to the cabin are spot on! She even brought us popcorn and was there with anything we needed quickly. Our kiddos and dog were very happy here.
We spent a little time near Highlands enjoying the river, but mostly stayed put. We cooked all our meals at the cabin. The kitchen is well stocked and there is a charcoal grill. Had a laundry day in town at a great laundromat (Happy Family). Overall we had everything we needed and were super comfy!
The WiFi is a little slow, but in such a beautiful place who cares!! It was plenty to get us what we needed.
Chloe’s place was great for us and our German Sheppard. We went rafting down the Nantahala and hiking at Joyce Kilmer Forest. She was very accommodating and ensured we had an awesome stay. There is good solid charcoal grill that we utilized every evening. The only negative was the trip was too short!
This is the perfect spot to get away from it all, beautiful and secluded it is a quiet oasis. Chloe is simply amazing, she is gracious and kind, our daughter and dog didn’t want to leave. We will certainly be back. Highly recommend!!
Very clean for remote cabin. Yes we saw bugs but that is expected. The duplex was very clean tho. We did get lost and Chloe was very helpful
and got us on track.
It’s a scenic country road leading to the house. The house is nice. I saw deer in the driveway 3/4 of the mornings. The definite best part, is Miss Chloe. She can’t do enough to accommodate you! She even shared her baked goods with me when I first arrived. Dang she’s a good cook! And she’s right upstairs, with her two adorable dogs, if you need absolutely anything My AT&T cell service didn’t work very well in the house. It worked better outside. The Wi-Fi is not super fast. But you’re not there to play on your phone!
Chloe the owner was very nice & friendly. Her directions to the rental was spot on. Extremely clean and comfortable atmosphere. Comfortable king size beds. Can't wait to go back for another visit.

secluded and peaceful
We enjoyed our time here and we even got to see a couple of deer. Every room has sliding glass doors providing lots of light and a beautiful view of the woods. In my opinion the drive is a little steep and the drive into town is a bit much for coming and going daily. If you want to get away from city life this is secluded and peaceful. Owner lives upstairs making contact easy if you need something.

Great stay
My friends and I stayed at this property for 3 days. We had a wonderful time. The place was as described and the house was extremely clean. The two bedrooms are huge and the kitchen is well equipped. It is nestled in the mountains and was very peaceful. The house is cut off from the city so would have been difficult to find but Chloe sent us detailed directions and this helped us in finding the place. It is a 40 minute drive to Nanthala outdoor center and around 1:30 mins to Clingman's Dome from this rental. We even spotted a deer one day close to the property. All in all a great rental and would highly recommend this place.
