"This little rustic cabin was warm and inviting. Had most of everything you'd need. It is very secluded right on the Crab Run stream which was rolling while we were there from all of the rain. When you walked out on the lovely covered porch it always sounded like rain even if it wasn't raining due to the rolling stream. What a relaxing sound with your morning coffee on the porch. The gas wood stove made it nice and toasty inside and the large fire pit was wonderful for relaxing outside. All in all we loved this place and would go back again. You have to check out the local Sugar Tree Store in McDowell which is a mile away from the cabin. We got to meet Glen the owner of the store. We got an education about the area from him and enjoyed some good ole country hospitality. Be prepared to drive through the NFS mountains to get there and to get to other towns. The drives around were breath taking. "

"We needed a place to stay on short notice and we were so thankful the cabin was available. It snowed about 4-5 inches that changed some plans a bit but it was very scenic and the cabin was cozy with everything we needed. Connie was very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay again!"

"For my wife’s birthday weekend I surprised her with a trip to this mountain getaway, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The hostess had a few birthday surprises for my wife which was very thoughtful. She was also very responsive when it came to contacting her for questions or for suggestions on what to do in the area. The cabin was amazing, very clean warm and inviting. Everything that you could need was available, from the bath towels to coffee maker. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and the streaming smart tv was a very nice touch. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a getaway retreat in the WV mountains!"

"A beautiful spot, the location was spectacular, other than the two mile trail getting to the house it didn’t help that it snowed the night before making it a little interesting getting down the mountain. The only thing I was a little bit sad with the American flag outside. It was very tattered. Being a veteran and a member of a VFW I dispose of it in a the proper way. We all enjoy our stay and it’s a beautiful place. "
