"Way more house than we needed for just the two of us—5 bedrooms and 4 baths—but it always felt comfortable. Very nicely decorated with art and ceramics. Beautiful grounds, including a large swimming pool. Spectacular views across the valley and into the hills and mountains beyond. We felt very much at home there, and would love to come back with our children and grandchildren some day. Bridgette and Enrico, the owners were very welcoming and helpful showing us around the house when we arrived.The only drawback to this house is that it’s up a long and very windy road, and a bit of a hike to the nearest town. Most of the towns and cities we visited in Umbria were1-2 hours away, and the drives between the house and each were beautiful."

"Loved our time at Borghetto Calcinaia. We enjoyed the pool, views of the lake, the gardens, the nearby towns. Ben was very helpful and we were delighted to have food at the house when we arrived. The property had everything we needed and it's very comfortable. Can't wait to return!"

"John & Dianne were utterly lovely and made every effort for us. The listing is very clear and if you're looking for peace and quiet in a serene valley, you couldn't do better. The track should be driven with care but after the first time accompanied by John, it's not too bad. I wouldn't bring a car with low clearance though. John and Dianne are in their home next door which was nice to know. They very much left us to it and didn't mind us playing our music by the pool. Otherwise we didn't see anyone else except the cats! Once you're installed, it's the perfect place for a digital detox although there is some basic wifi. The kitchen had everything we needed and the change of pace was exactly what we were after. I'm missing this lovely home already. Thank you for having us! Harry & Bruno."

"We were 8 adults and loved our stay here. Pool is large and warm. Great accommodation. Good sized table outside for eating at. Very good communication before we went and property manager on hand if we needed anything during the stay. There are some lovely hilltop towns within 30 mins of the property, Arezzo is an hour away and there are restaurants and a supermarket 10 mins away. Can thoroughly recommend!!"
