And when I say comfortable, the bed is great, had a brilliant night's sleep. We didn't stay for breakfast so I can't comment on that, but have heard good things so we'll save that for next time!"

"Brilliant stay in the heart of the town. Very modern, provides basic necessities such as shower gels and tea and coffees. The pub is just downstairs so any issues you can report to them. Keyless entry to the hotel and your room, very good value for money. "

"Lovely 2 night stay at the Lion Hotel, regularly visit Shrewsbury and thought of staying here for a change , we were pleasantly surprised, after reading some of the reviews, so please do not discard this hotel because of some negative reviews, you need to stay here to find out for yourself. Easy check in , staff very helpful and always ready to greet you with a smile and hello. Room lovely and clean and nice and warm, as we're all the areas of the hotel. Breakfast was really good, plenty of it, and the lady at breakfast was so lovely, always smiling and nothing was too.much for her, thankyou. Will deffinately recommend the Lion hotel to friends and family, and we will be back. Also £5 per night to park your car there, which is really good value, and very convenient for shops and bars. "
