"It was very nice to be able to sit outside under cover with a drink and enjoy the amazing view. Linen was nice and very clean, plenty of soaps, shampoos, coffee, tea etc, bed was comfortable and warm. However attention to detail cleaning the rooms was lacking, dirty skirting boards, a table obviously not moved and vacuumed under for many months, broken light in the bedroom."

"Generally you get what you pay for. This place was cheap and so were the rooms. The sink was tiny, the shower didn’t drain, and there was a musty smell in some rooms. For one night though it was tolerable and even quaint in a quirky way."

"We enjoyed our villa stay. Room was dated but the bathroom was nice and the room was clean. The pool and shared areas were a bit run down but we hadn’t planned to use them anyway. The breakfast was nice! Would stay here again"

"This stay was part of a long trip around Nww Zealand. This property was ideal for us as we had booked a trip to Milford Sound, the pick up was a short 7 minute walk away. We were within walking distance of the town’s amenities. The accommodation was comfortable and we felt very safe. All the staff we met were lovely and helpful, they made getting our bearings very easy. Thank you."

"We stayed in one of the Matai lodges and it was fantastic. Very comfortable stay and close to town. Staff were wonderful and welcoming and gave us a complimentary hot tub hour for our honeymoon. "

"A first class operation with nice extras in the room like the electric fireplace and coffee machine. Beautiful view of the lake and we would have enjoyed the patio more the second day except it rained. Town center is walkable where a selection of restaurants and shops are located. The combined washer/dryer was a challenge as getting the door to unlock to retrieve clothes was a mystery. "

"Holiday apartment had a well- appreciated heated drying rack, as we arrived in rainstorm. Efficient, has all you need. Staff super helpful- I left a book and came back a couple days later and it was neatly logged in a book and cheerfully returned. Location on lake is really helpful. Laundry was easy. It was just what we needed. "

"Beautifully restored building with interesting and unique furnishings. View is lovely, huge grounds with delightful antiques, art and gardens. Super friendly staff. Loved the library and breakfast. Bed and bedding perfect, small but hot and well pressured shower. Thoughtful design throughout and really delicious food. "
